Volunteer with DEFSC

Diamond Edge Figure Skating Club runs on more than just skates - it runs on the heart and energy of our skating families. When every family gives a little, our skaters gain a lot!

Our skating program thrives because of the incredible support of our families.

While we're incredibly grateful to the few families who have consistently stepped up, we're working toward a program where volunteering is a shared responsibility.

Your involvement helps us offer a safe, fun, and high-quality experience for every skater—from first steps on the ice to confident performances.

Each family is asked to contribute volunteer hours based on their skater’s level at the start of the winter season:

Skater Level

First-Year Families Exempt-But always welcome to help!

Snowplow Sam 1–Basic 1 5 hours

Basic 2 – Basic 4 10 hours

Basic 5 – Freeskate 1 20 hours

Freeskate 2 and Above 30 hours

If you prefer to support DEFSC financially, families may buy out any or all of their required hours at $20/hour. Volunteer hours will be tracked annually from September 1 through August 31, giving plenty of time to meet your family’s contribution. Billing for unfilled hours will take place on September 1.
